Heart Under Siege, The Hidden Threat of Lp(a) [Animation]

In this animation, created by the UIC Biomedical Visualization Graduate Program, we learn about what lipoproteins like HDL, LDL, and Lp(a) are and what they do in the bloodstream. We get a scientifically accurate, submicroscopic view of what cholesterol is, the types of cholesterol found in the bloodstream, and why some types are more dangerous than others. Finally, we explore why Lp(a) is considered a "triple threat" to our circulatory system.
